Chewer

The Chewer

If your dog chews everything in sight — furniture, shoes, toys, the corner of your rug — they’re not being destructive on purpose. They’re telling you something. Chewing is one of the most natural, self-soothing behaviors a dog has. The goal isn’t to stop it. It’s to give it somewhere safe and satisfying to go.

Chewers are tactile dogs. They engage with the world through their mouth and paws. They need texture, resistance, and the satisfaction of working something apart. Give them that, and they settle. Deny it, and they find their own outlet — usually something you’d rather they didn’t.

Food Safety Note: Always supervise your dog with food-based enrichment, chews, and edible activities. Choose ingredients and textures that are appropriate for your dog’s size, age, chewing style, and health needs. If your dog has allergies, medical concerns, or tends to gulp, check with your veterinarian before trying something new.
